I just finished this book ❤️❤️❤️❤️Very well written and such an easy read!!! I am NOT a reader, but couldn’t seem to put this gem down! This book includes simple ways to transform our thoughts and actions to help spread kindness and live a more fulfilling life!

The pages on the side of the book are rough and never got the final finish cut.

This is a pleasant, conversational read that will make you re-think and re-frame how you treat others and (perhaps most importantly) yourself. I like the empowering, actionable steps the book provides. I especially enjoyed the “active listening” part and have been attempting this in real life (easier read than done!). The content feels timely given the current state of the world. If you enjoy books by Brene Brown and Alice Miller, this book is for you!

As a nutrition student, this is not helpful. It is 90% biology based and 10% nutrition. Furthermore, I was taught that when doing research to use material only five years old. When looking at the references from each chapter I noticed that about half of the sources were from 2000 or earlier. Some of her references are from the 1940s. On page 314 it states, "In the United States, the prevalence rates for iron-deficiency anemia were recently reported in NHANES III (1988-1994)..." The 1990s is NOT recent. Unfortunately, her information is so outdated, that I don't find it reliable.

It provides information that individuals as myself who are 50 or above need to be aware of on how our bodies are in decline and need to adjust to nutrition concerns.

Each subject had plenty of research sources to reinforce the validity of presented topic. Each chapter flows. Having been in the geriatric field for several years myself, I can say that this author is a master of this field of study.

Extremely comprehensive but it is a difficult read. I feel I would get more out of it if it summarized the point instead of discussing study details

I gave this book a 3 start because it is filled with relevant information regarding LTC nutritional standards of care. However, if you are buying this book to get CEP, as someone wrote under another review, be aware that the book does not include the test or the option to reclaim CPEs. I guess one had to buy a separate test from another website that selll just the test for more money that the book itself!

Great book at less then half the price of other ones I've found. I got a great deal on the 30 credit test that goes with the book from another company thar wanted $149.00 for the book. Don't think you could get 30 credits cheaper any place else.

No problems getting the book and its in great condition. The most affordable option I could find as well

It's a very useful book.for those studying gerontology it's a very handy book.

The issues with the book are it is very heavy handed with the warnings about performing magick. All of that could have been covered with a simple disclaimer on the front or just a page at the beginning of the book. Instead it was peppered throughout. Secondly, the editing leaves something to be desired. There was a fairly large amount of typos and grammatical errors in the book. If it wasn't so short it might be difficult to read through. The good part about the book is it has some good info on the runes and even some unique perspectives on them. It also attempts to show the difference between what is historically accurate in regards to the ancient uses and feelings towards the runes versus the new age stuff. And the author does it without sounding biased towards either school of thought.

I'm having a struggle going trough this. I didn't expect that much negativism. So far I've only read about how bad New Age, as if it eats your unborn children by just existing. I am not such, but I see no reason to shame each other, it's starting to sound like orthodox vs catholicism vs protestants, I don't see why one should be better than the other. Each person has their own path and deserves respect and to be allowed to calmly follow it. Likewise, since I connect with a traditional path, I research it and look for materials about it. The personal notes about certain authors are also a bit mean, plus the "historical fact" phrase being overused, without a single bracket that says where it is found, just myths and sagas, myths and poems, etc. Myths are not historical facts, they're mythological facts as far as I am concerned (that are gathered by historians, ok, but still, it sounds to me like once when I heard somebody saying that Christ turning the tables in the church was a history fact, I cringed then, I am cringing now too).Plus, I get that the author has learned English as a second language. It's not my mother tongue too, I have only studied it at high school which was five years ago, but still if you don't know when to use singular and plural, when to add prepositions, commas or a/an/the, I guess it's worth spending some money for somebody to proofread your work. It's really a struggle, I'm really not sure if I will be able to finish the book, but I will at least try, because of the good reviews. Hopefully when I'm done I will be able to add something positive, and hopefully we'll get to the point soon instead of keeping the same negative tone once every three sentences.

I believe this would be an excellent book if formatting issues were resolved. The information for the runes seems to be complete and helpful except for the "blocks" for each rune where some of the information has disappeared. This did not occur for all blocked areas, only some. Due to these formatting issues, I had to return the book; however, if the formatting issues are resolved, I would definitely buy this book again. Please fix the formatting. I really want this book.I changed my rating of the book from 1 star to 3 because the information quality was excellent although, for some reason my Kindle did not display some of the information that was in the blocked areas (with the lines drawn around them) did not show up for me. The author assured me that he has not had any issue with this before, so maybe it is an issue with my Kindle only. Again, the information was concise and accurate. I just couldn't get it all to show up for me from one page to the next on some of line drawn areas. I wish it wasn't doing this because I REALLY wanted this book.

This book, along with The Runes Workshop: A You know.TM Intuition Workbook, will give you a heck of a lot more usable information than books priced thrice greater than the two of these combined!This book, though had minor editing gliches, and the author seemed to be an English Language learner at times with awkward syntax and word choice, was great. I flipped between this and the other book mentioned above.This book had succinct definitions, cases, magickal uses, potential reversal meanings, and summary for each rune.If you're starting out on your Rune research, get this for one of your resources.

Written well, and understandable. Many of these books are written in a way that makes them hard to understand. This one explains the runes so anyone can understand what they are trying to tell the reader.

My to go book. I have others but this book makes it easy to look up quickly!

You can tell this was Kelly's capstone project. He said he spent 4 years writing it and the hard work paid off. I've read most of his work and I highlighted more sections of this book than his others. A book for anyone who wants true lasting joy

Very excellent. I had seen Matthew in person several years ago. He makes a good and passionate and a full life attainable and what we should strive for. I would like our Bible Study group to all read this book and discuss it. I plan on rereading this selection and to take note so I am able to read and review the valuable points that Matthew had stressed. Our lives are worth more than we make of them. I could write on and on how impressed I was with this book!

Matthew Kelly is very motivational. He mixes the Catholicism with his motivational writing very well. If you are looking for a motivational book with Christianity mixed into it, this is your book. Great author, look forward to reading his other books.

The secret writings of Matthew Kelly. Apparently Kelly was advised to stop writing about hearing God's voice. Of course, anyone who listen knows that God speaks. Thankfully Matthew Kelly continued to listen and to pass on what he heard, even if he no longer talks about a personal source. He is a glorious defender of Catholicism and he provides practical advice on how to become a better version of yourself.

I have not completed reading the book. I am finding this book inspiring.I look forward to my reading time each day. This book has provided mewith answers to some problems I needed help with but did not know where to turn.

I can't think of enough good things to say about this book and Matthew Kelly. It was inspiring for me. The young author is certainly a messenger who has be bless with the spirit of God. Everyone should read it, I am sure we all will not get the same message but will be inspired in some way just the same. I will read it again and again.

Matthew Kelly shares an inspirational walk with God and how to dilute meaningless "stuff" in our lives that keep us from being close to God. His insight to listening is very good - he hits the nail on the head. He also distinguishes the difference between blessings and what we Westerners perceive as our rights. An overinflated ego doesn't notice the miracles in life which keeps God's plan hidden. I shared this book with my 25 year-old son. He is reading a little of it everyday.

With a background in World Religion, an avid meditator, and hobby philosopher, this book actually answered some profound issues I had and did so with concise clarity. My brother for almost a decade has been stuck in the "Everything passes and is therefore meaningless" nihilistic state that has now turned into clinical depression. He wasn't the first to point this out to me and for years I have struggled with questions about death and purpose.His Holiness Dalai Lama has elegantly answered the question Nihilism proposes, by stating that only co-dependent entities can perform any function. In this, he uses "function" rather than "purpose" although the two are effectively exchangeable. Please read the book to further understand what I mean.This book has affected me deeply primarily because I did not expect to get this type of information from this book. The subtitle, although cheesy at the onset of reading "How to live a meaningful life", is precisely accurate and the book successfully performs it's described function. I know how to live a meaningful life now. And no, existence is not meaningless, purposeless, or useless. It is precisely meaningful, purposeful, and useful, and now I know why thanks to this book.If all human minds were seeds of flowers, the Dalai Lama is the Sun.

The Dalai Lama has is one of the most profound individuals the universe has known. He will not admit this, but I will say it for him instead.This book greatly enhances or helps start any meditation practice. He breaks down complex experiences in his life and gives examples of ways to live (and practice) a better, more fulfilled, and happier life.As with anything though, you must be dedicated to yourself and health practices to see the benefits that arise from self contemplation and meditation.

The book is great, talks you through a great path. No matter your believes or religion, is a book for the daily basis attitude tords people and your environment. I would recommend this book to anyone! Especially if your looking for a peaceful living and even an anger reliever! Loved it!

Wonderful book for both the beginning and ongoing Buddhist, and of course any others who want to live a more peaceful and clearer life. The DalaI Lama makes the messages so much more accessible for us all. This is a book to be read in small sections, contemplated, and savored. Then to read again and again.

Life changing and clear. His holiness has changed my life through his teachings (including this one). His message of unbiased compassion brings peace and happiness. If everyone practiced what is taught in this book, everyone would be happy and there would be world-wide peace. Seriously. Add to cart. :) :) I am inexpressibly grateful to this wonderful Dalai Lama.

Good book. Anything by the Dalai Lama, or the teachings of Buddha, or Gandhi, or Deepak Chopra, has my attention. I'm always on the hunt for the best self help books I can find, because we all need a little help at times to put things into perspective and get back on track internally. This book did not disappoint. I bought a new copy, and it arrived promptly and in good condition. Highly recommend!

I'm not bashing a person's decision to a life of service for humanity...But this whole nonsense of abolishing suffering is...just that... nonsense...Humans define their existence through suffering.It's what shapes us and what makes us advance and rise to the occasion.And don't get me started on this whole "emptiness" nonsense...A baseball bat is inherently empty unless someone is swinging it at your head...But it's empty! So the concussion you're about to "suffer" will simply be in your head...Convoluted nonsense...if you're life is empty then put some meaning into it...do...something...This is what happens when you take a normal man and appoint him some holy diety...In this respect the Tibetans are no better than some religious fanatics...
