I wish there had been some reviews of this book before I bought it, might have saved me wasting my money on it! Looking at the picture on the front cover it looked perfect.I have a big dent in one of my cars just like the picture in the top left (although not quite as bad but very similar). I also had some minor rust that I wanted to repair in a similar spot on my rear fender just like the picture in the lower left. I figured if the book covered at least those two it would be worth the price paid. Well, the only place those pictures exist in this book is on the cover. The only dent that it shows how to fix is a VERY minor one that you can't even really see in the picture, they spend a lot of time showing how to take off all the door panel trim and then in the final picture just say to push it out with your thumb. For rust repair, they show how to take the fender off and replace it with one from a junk yard, no sandpaper or paint at all!There are excellent sections (NOT!) on how to vacuum out your trunk and how to clean floor mats, not to be outdone by how to remove stickers/decals, how to wash your car, and how to spray on engine degreaser and rinse it off. Sheesh.I've got quite a few MotorBooks Workshop books and so far they have all been great, not sure how this one slipped through the cracks, the publisher must have been out the day this one came in and so it was up to the intern (who obviously doesn't own a car) as to whether to publish it or not...If you've never owned a car before and have just bought one that needs a little cleaning up then this might be the book for you, if you've owned one for more that a couple months then I wouldn't bother. I don't think I've ever left a bad review before but I was so disappointed in this book that I didn't want anyone else to waste their money.
The projects chosen in the book are well rounded, but the problem is with how the content is presented. The wording is like someone who doesn't know very much about cars and gets somewhat off-subject at times. If it challenged the reader more it could have been a 4.5/5 book.
Well documented and illustrated with step by step photographs. Easy to understand and apply.
Very good reference book. Lots of good detail. Good addition to my extensive library. Used, but in very good shape.
